Waʻahila Ridge Hike Photos

The hike was really fun. You can look at the photo gallery for proof. Next time we'll do the one-way, three hour hike from Waʻahila to Manoa. Adam and Chris planned the hike so ask them to schedule more hikes if you enjoyed it.

We were worried about the clouds at first

At 8:45am the first group of people arrived on time. Adam and Chris wanted to start the hike promptly at 9am. Knowing that people would arrive a little late they decided to set the meeting time at the odd time of fifteen minutes before nine. And it worked! The hike actually started at 9am. We hiked up the ridge until 10:45 when we reached the first plateau.

It took about forty minutes to make the return trip. When the last people finished the return trip, Machiko rolled in with fresh, hot W&M burgers. There were many picnic tables and covered areas to eat at. We were done eating in thirty minutes but we still had forty-five minutes left until pickup time. We ended up leaving early at 12pm instead of 12:30pm.

The trees have eyesChris noted that some people said the funniest things while we were hiking:

  • Andrew said, “I feel like a cheeseburger”
  • Ian said, “The trees have eyes”
  • Christina said, “I can feel my heart beating in my face”
  • Isa said, “I'm gonna push you off this cliff!” – several times

It was nice to meet Adam's cousin Caleb. I hope we see him again. Don't despair if you missed out. We have a pool party some time in November.
