Ministry Report for October

Posted on Tuesday, October 6th 2009 by Chris in Reports

We had a Staff Meeting yesterday and I thought it would be a good idea to let everyone know what's happening. I can't reveal everything we discussed but those things will be revealed over the next couple of weeks. The major theme of the meeting was events and activities.

Events

We have a lot of events coming up soon but I've also listed some long-term events toward the bottom. Read on to find out more and stay tuned for future updates. We could always use more adult volunteers to help us keep track of the youth and be a positive influence so if you're interested in helping in any of the following events please contact us.

All Saints Eve

For those of you who don't know, our church puts on an alternative to trick-or-treating called All Saints Eve. It's sort of like a little carnival with food and games and that sort of thing.

The youth are constructing the Maze again. We're going to need as much help as possible. We're also manning the announcement booth. I think that includes running the background music and annoucements. I hope we don't have to announce: “hey Mr. Parent, we have your lost kid – please come to the booth”.

And last but not least we're running the Scavenger Hunt. Some interesting ideas were discussed – I think this year's hunt will be very interesting.

Christmas Party

Rylan said that we've got only ten weekends until Christmas so we better start planning now. I should start my holiday shopping while I'm at it. Looks like Christina D. and Rylan are in charge. Adam and I also volunteered to help. We're going to make it as festive as possible.

Other News

Don't forget that we have the hike on the 24th. Craig, Rylan and Alli will be giving messages at our worship service in the coming weeks. A Guys Caregroup is in the works. Xpedition 2k9 our summer youth camp is on the schedule. There might be a mission trip in the summer of 2010.
